If a psoriasis sufferer could spend four weeks in a hotel beside the Dead
Sea under medical supervision she would reap the benefits from
medically proven treatments. She would gain better skin and experience much relief while enjoying the sun's light
at its lowest point on earth; floating in the warm, mineral rich waters
of the Dead Sea; undergoing mud treatments, and being pampered that are
all part of today's therapeutic programs by the Dead Sea. She would
also be several thousands of dollars poorer!
For
those who have to endure the suffering caused by skin problems, whether
acne, psoriasis, eczema, or rough, dry, split skin, a much more
reasonable approach would be to duplicate the healing scenario of
the Dead Sea by using Phototherapy, Dead Sea Bath Salts,
and the specially formulated, doctor recommended, mineral creams and shampoos
manufactured from the black mud, salts, and minerals that are bountiful
in the Dead Sea.
Dr. Kremer's Treatment Shampoo, Face
and Body Cream and Scalp and Hair Cream harness the elements of the
Dead Sea and modern technology to provide clinically certified
dermatological action. These products provide all natural therapeutic skin care
for all skin types.
It is estimated that 6% of all people living in the United States are afflicted with psoriasis. There
is still no known cure for psoriasis, nor is the cause of it
understood. There is, however, an inherited disposition to this
disease.
Psoriasis progresses in stages and generally persists for several years to a lifetime. For psoriasis
sufferers, the normal skin renewal process is out of balance, resulting
in increased, uncontrolled proliferation of epidermis cells from the
basal stratum to the stratum corneum seven to ten times faster than
normal.
Symptoms
of psoriasis include redness, itching, flaking, and burning, discomfort
in joints and difficulty in falling and remaining asleep. There are
various avenues of pharmaceutical therapy, nutritional and behavioral
therapy and also various over the counter products that may offer
temporary relief. The effectiveness of these treatments varies widely
depending upon the individual treated and the ongoing adherence to the
treatment course.
Another one of the therapies
that has been proven to be medically effective in a majority of cases
is soaking in the Dead Sea in Israel or at home in one?s own bathtub
using authentic mineral salts from the Dead Sea. This therapy is all
natural and has no side effects. This type of water therapy, also known
as balneotherapy, has been demonstrated to be successful used alone or
in conjunction with phototherapy and other natural treatments.
In a controlled study conducted by J. Arndt, M.D., 50 psoriasis
patients were treated with Dead Sea salt. The salt was administered in
partial or full baths. Afterwards
the skin was carefully rinsed with clear water. The treatment period lasted four weeks with patients taking three to four baths a week. It was
found that after only one week symptoms of itching, scaling, discomfort
in joints and difficulty in falling and remaining asleep eased
considerably. Improvement continued into the fourth week when
patients were largely free of discomfort from all psoriasis symptoms.
Fifty-four percent of patients were completely healed and 44% exhibited
successful therapeutic results.
